Side effects to oral contraceptive pills are minor if you have been properly evaluated by your physician.(water retention, irritability, headache etc...)
Some patients might have these side effects to a certain composition of pills while others have no side effects at all. So it depends on how you tolerate it and if you have any side effects all it takes is to switch to another brand so that you become symptom free.
