Severe hypertension should be treated, and some women will require a high blood pressure medication after being discharged from the hospital.This can be discontinued when the blood pressure returns to normal levels, usually within six weeks.
Your doctor may recommend monitoring of blood pressure after discharge from the hospital, and again in about 10 to 14 days to confirm resolution of hypertension.
Avoid nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for pain relief may help control persistent hypertension, as these drugs may adversely affect blood pressure and kidney function.
So if you had been now 6 weeks after delivery and your blood pressure is still high and uncontrollable you can talk to your doctor to prescribe medicines if it is not stable
Don;t be stressed ,you blood pressure if it is high because of preeclampsia it will drops again
However ,blood pressure that continues to be elevated beyond 12 weeks after delivery is unlikely to be related to preeclampsia and may require long-term treatment.

One high reading does not mean you have high blood pressure. It is necessary to measure your blood pressure at different times, while you are resting comfortably for at least five minutes.
To make the diagnosis of hypertension, at least three readings that are elevated are usually required.
