Been bleeding since my 1st period after an abortion (3 months ago). I have a cyst on the ovary, 3 cm & I started birth control pills but I'm still bleeding. Today I got my period with 1 pill remaining

However an excessive bleeding is not common. If you had dilation and curtage or even if the abortion was spontaneous you should do am ultrasound to make sure there is no retention.
And in the case of retention a D&C or a hysteroscopy are indicated.

3 months of continuous bleeding after abortion is abnormal ,we need to do an urgent pelvic ultrasound to see if there any retention in the cavity of the uterus and if the cavity is empty the ovarian cyst could be a cause and sometimes we need to change the pills
