Nerves that run quite close to the edge of a c-section incision can be bruised or crushed or even cut. Sometimes when these nerves are cut both numbness and pain can result, a condition called anesthesia dolorosa.
The diagnosis is confirmed with nerve block. So you need to see a pain doctor to confirm the diagnosis and give you the appropriate treatment.
