Can a person fast if they are getting a blood transfusion in hospital?

of course not ! the underlying disease for which the transfusion is done, is by itself enough for the non fasting. transfusion rupture the fasting anyway. otherwise, people would get an IV drip of liquids instead of getting oral water.
