Around Christmas i.e. 3 months ago, a small white-to-red pimple appeared on my eyelid. what could it be? should i check with an ophthalmologist or a dermatologist?

Your description is not enough to know what this could be. If the pimple is located on the skin of the eyelid then it should be with a dermatologist. If it's deep or at the border of the lids then an ophtalmologist is recommended.
