And old surgery scar if visible can sometimes be redone to make it look even. But if no surgery is needed, a peeling can be offered to improve the texture but this needs a strict followup and sunscreen application for over a year. If no peeling is done, massaging the scar with silicone ointment can improve its appearance.

How old is the scar? is it red? is it more prominent than the edges of the normal skin?if the scar is white and fine, i don't recommend to touch it; if it's wide, it can be redone to refine it; if it's red and fine, just apply Silicone gel twice a day for 3 months; it can also be enhanced by one session of laser.
