My husband is having persistent chest pain, sneezing and coughing is terribly agonizing and so is deep breathing. He had at several occassions traces of blood when he coughs, had an on and off fever.

This necessitates immediate medical attention- it could be a complicated pneumonia (especially if your husband is a chronic heavy smoker, and/or has traveled recently to the Gulf, we think of Corona virus) or a more serious lung infection (such as tuberculosis). Lymphoma also needs to be ruled out, especially if he has unexplained weight loss and night sweats.
