An x-ray revealed lung infection, 3 consecutive courses of antibiotics and ibuprofen and mucolytic. No change was seen in the next xray and the symptoms are still there except for blood traces.

Changes due to lung disease take months to resolve on X-ray; sometimes, they may even persist and become irreversible. BUT if your husband has received THREE courses of antibiotics and is still having fever is worrisome I, a CT scan is necessary - some pathologies may not be revealed on simple chest X-ray. Has he done a tuberculosis skin test?
