In order to coin the cause of bleeding, we need to 1st make sure that the patient in question does not have a decreased platelet count (platelets are the components of the blood that are responsible for the primary response to bleeding and wound healing; a low platelet count can manifest in minor bleeds and in bruises over the skin, sometimes in the oral cavity) because chemotherapy can induce a drop in cell counts, including platelets. Also, the ability of the blood to coagulate should be assessed via two tests (PT and INR, PTT).And since the patient is on Innohep, a form of heparin (a molecule that makes blood more fluid), there are certain blood tests that are used as parameters to monitor how well the patient is responding to Innohep.
Please keep in mind that this is a complex case and many factors come into play; always discuss your concerns with the treating physician who is aware of all the treatment details and potential side effects.
