There is a number of tests that may be done to find out the cause for your high blood pressure and tachycardia. A secondary etiology for your problem should be considered in your age. Kidney diseases, endocrine diseases should be sought among others.
You definitely need treatment after finding the cause. High blood pressure can cause enlargement of the heart from overwork on the long run and many other dangerous problems.
