High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is often called “good” cholesterol. It removes cholesterol from the bloodstream and hence protects against coronary (heart vessel) diseases. That is why a high level (>45 in men and >55 in women) is healthy. A hint to remember that is that the "H" in HDL stands for "HIGH", so the higher the healthier. A level of HDL of 60 or higher greatly reduces your risk of heart disease
Furthermore it has been observed in humans that HDL-cholesterol levels above 75 mg/dL are associated with prolonged life (called the longevity syndrome) and relative freedom from coronary disease.
So you should be very happy with your HDL level!
