I am having a yellow vaginal discharge and an unpleasant smell. Is it a sign of an std? Or an unrelated (to std) infection?

to be sure you should see a gynecologist to do a vaginal exam & take a culture before any intake of antibiotics or medication .
if you are sexually active, a pap smear should also be done
