My 9-month-old baby reacts strongly to mosquito bites. The bite area turns red, swollen & sometimes with a white bubble in the middle. Should I worry?

You need not be worried as long as the skin reaction to the insect bites is local (restricted to the zone of the bite) and does not spread further around the adjacent skin areas, and/or becomes associated with systemic allergic reactions such as vomiting, diarrhea, swelling of the eyes, lips or face, wheezing/shortness of breath. You can apply topical antihistamine creams to the bitten areas of the skin to alleviate the irritation and itchiness. If you notice yellowish crusting on top of the redness, this could mean the area got infected, in which case a topical antibiotic cream becomes needed.
Mosquito repellent products should be used regularly as well. Place filters to all your windows, and make sure you do not leave windows and doors open to prevent mosquitoes from entering into the house.
