On the short term, a ranitidine overdose may produce symptoms including lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting. You may also experience muscle tremors, rapid breathing, changes in walking pattern, and low blood pressure. Treatment options for a ranitidine overdose generally include "pumping the stomach," or gastric lavage, which is done within a maximum of 2 hours after the administration of the dose (later on it becomes useless), administering certain medicines, and providing supportive care such as IV hydration.
