Hi doctors, whenever i smile my big part of my gum shows, how can i solve this problem and who can i resort to that can help find solutions?

What you have is called "gummy smile". The are several solutions to treat it. The type of treatment will depend on the etiology or the cause of your gummy smile. The most common one consists on doing a very simple and esthetic gum surgery ( we will remove the exact amount of gum and sometimes a litlle bit of bone must be removed so the gum doesn't go back to its initial position). It is an easy surgery with very little pain and swelling.

When the gum usually shows, it can be removed with a crown lengthening procedure. It consists of removing the gum and the bone under it so it won't grow again. That can be made with a surgery, cutting the gum and pealing the bone, or simply with Laser. An Erbium Laser. Where bone and tissue will be removed with no pain and no swelling.
