How can I tell if I have a micro penis?
13 أكتوبر 2014

د. Zakia Dimassi طب الأطفال
Microphallus, or micropenis, is defined as a stretched penile length (SPL) of less than 2.5 standard deviations (SDs) below the mean for age, and this is usually discovered during infancy. Traditionally, the term micropenis refers to a penis that is otherwise normally formed. Most adult men are within about 1.7 cm of 13 cm; micropenis is found in 0.6% of men with the smallest penises who have an SPL of around 9-10 cm or less.
Micropenis is a rare condition. There are many more conditions that may lead to the false impression that the penis is small, such as obesity, namely excessive belly fat which causes the abdominal wall to droop down and thus conceal the penis. It can also occur when the connection to the scrotum is absent and the penis withdraws inward toward the pelvis, or when the foreskin is too large to the extent that it makes the penis look buried.
