A tothpaste should be changed every couple of months or to be more specific, each time a toothpaste tube is finished, change to another one to give time for the mouth flora not to relax from one specific chemical product.
Your teeth wont be harmed if you change to another toothpaste.

exactly as Dr Rahayel explained.
steer away from commercialized toothpaste that would insure whiting and whatnot and stick to pharmaceutical ones.
