If this volume is low, the problem is usually due to obstruction at the level of the prostate (an special U/S test for the prostate can diagnose the problem). If it is normal, a testicular biopsy is necessary to differentiate between obstructive cause at the level of the epididymis or the vas, and a subtype of testicular failure that gives normal FSH and testosterone.
