a gynecological exam should be done, to look for any signs of irritation, inflammation, discharge, infection...
also it is time to do a PAP smear ( exam for your cervix i.e the lower part of your uterus that can catch infection ) because you are sexually active for more than 2 years.
" making love" is it with complete penetration, if yes, up to 10 % of virgin girls will not bleed in their first intercourse, it depends on your hymen type.
