For more than one reason: for one thing, the cause of the diarrhea may very well be something contagious, 2nd: you'd be most likely dehydrated, which not only precludes the ability to donate blood since you'd be low on fluids in your body, but may also give a falsely elevated reading of the hematocrit because of dehydration itself. Get well, then you may donate blood should you have no other contraindications.
