What are the normal values of acceptable total cholesterol for people under 40 years old?

if there are no other cardiovascular risk factos, the cholesterol level acceptable value is a bit higher . Although the recommendation is to have LDL less than 100, and HDL more than 35 (the American) , but French school is a bit more reluctant about it .
