Thanks Dr. Rania .. but what shall I use as an alternative to cotton buds in order to clean my ears? .. I can't handle feeling the wax inside ..

there is no alternative ,you should treat the cause of your wax build up ,the doctor will figure the cause and gives the necessary treatment ,it may be infection ,or sinus or nose problem ,it should be treated.
the doctor will clean it for you ,don't use cotton buds they may be your problem ,he may give wax-softening ear drops that soften wax and the wax will be gone alone or he may also flush it out of your ear. beside treating your symptom and clearing your ear he will figure the cause and give necessary treatment so that the problem don't recur again .
Don't hesitate go for the doctor ,wax build up and pain might mean infection which if not treated may have complications and hear loss or decrease in hearing .
