It is the most likely possibility, especially in the absence of other symptoms such as cough/runny nose (we think of a cold or flu), ear pain (middle ear infection), diarrhea or abdominal pain (gastroenteritis), or headache and neck stiffness (in this time of the year, a type of virus known as entrovirus may causes meningitis "إلتهاب السحايا" which causes fever, headache, stiff neck, sometimes with vomiting and weakness or lethargy - this usually requires only treatment of symptoms and IV fluids as the body's immune system can destroy the virus on its own).
Urinary tract infection (UTI) is NOT contagious, but until the diagnosis is confirmed, you are advised not to let your son and nephew play close together or eat from the same plate or drink from the same cup. Also do not send him to the daycare until you're sure this is UTI, in which case he'll be OK to go while taking antibiotics.
