You probably cited the name of the disease wrong. Thalassemia doesn't usually cause pain, sickle cell anemia does and control of the disease and the pain need a specialist in hematology so check for a doctor in your surroundings who did this specialty. Moreover, when the pain is severe the patient sometimes needs to be hospitalized.
