There's a gap between my upper teeth. What is the best way to fix them or fill the gap? I also have a missing tooth, what should I do?

One problem with orthodontic correction is relapse: There is a strong propensity for the gap to reappear after treatment. This can be addressed by bonding a permanent retainer to the inside surfaces of the teeth to prevent the diastemia from reopening.and concerning the missed tooth the dentist will make you artificial one instead depending on your teeth measures .

Various options exist to compensate the gap and get around the missing tooth.
Although I don't have full details(which tooth is missing? Is it frontal? Is the gap due to the missing tooth? Is it a simple diastema?) I can safely say that options rely on:
-orthodontic treatment: although it takes up to 1.5 yrs on average, the result is sustainable and balanced. If done properly and correctly, there will not be recidivism.
- implant in the missing tooth site: however esthetic considerations are to be made if the missing tooth is frontal and isolated
-prostodontics and crowns: if your teeth are damaged and deteriorating, the teeth can be filed and crown compensating esthetics, gaps and missing teeth. However if teeth are not damaged it would be a shame to file them.
