No side effects for the voice of the hairdryer, but i advise you to try decreasing the sound of hairdryer with time so that your child will get used with time to a decreasing sound of hairdryer until he won't hear anymore , try this technique

The real hair dryer (not the application) sound may cause acoustic trauma and some hearing loss if placed near the ears for a long time!
