There must be something bothering your son at the time of going to sleep. Maybe the heat? (mothers, especially new moms, have a tendency to overbundle and over cover their babies, because they fear their babies might catch a cold or get ill). So make sure you are not overdressing your baby or using too many covers. Another thing to keep in mind is that sometimes the smallest changes in a child's environment lead to discomfort, so think about this as well. Make sure that he's well fed, burped and cleaned before putting him to sleep. Look out for constipation: infants around this age, not uncommonly and with the maturation of their digestive system, may suffer from constipation, and have to strain really hard to pass a bowel movement (a baby is lying on his back while passing bowel movement so he already has to push harder than an adult who sits up - and thus can generate more pressure in the abdomen. Also babies have weak muscles in the area of the abdomen, prompting them to push very hard while pooping).
