An elevated concentration of creatin in the urine indicates a renal dysfunction. Your husband will have to get more kidney function tests in order to determine the exact diagnosis.

I am not sure of the significance of urinary creatinine mentioned in the question, but the presence of some protein in the urine can indicate a kidney problem, however we cannot be sure if there is a problem or not based on just one urine test, as this might be secondary to a urinary infection for example. I suggest that your husband repeat the urine test as a first step (midstream urine specimen that is taken directly to the laboratory), dipstick testing on this urine testing will determine if there is any proteins (proteinuria), and a microscopic exam done in the laboratory will determine if there is any abnormal cells, such as red cells ( hematuria) or white cells (pyuria) and will determine if there is any abnormalities to suggest a urinary infection, and then he may need other urinary and blood tests to determine if there is a problem in the kidneys or not.
