As long as your dog has been followed up on regularly by the vet this year and is up-to-date on all its vaccines, especially rabies, there isn't much worry about caring for it by a ppregnant woman. To be on the safe side, have it checked for parasites at regular intervals (especially if you let it run around loose outside home). Parasites that infect animals may be transmitted to humans, and despite the fact that the impact of a parasitic infection in the mother on a fetus is uncertain, it's not worth taking a risk so better be very careful.
