I'm giving him Singulair 5. But it is not working all the time. Specially when he make effort or run during the day. Is it an allergy or asthme?

Your child most likely has cough-variant asthma, a type of asthma in which the main symptom is a dry, non-productive cough. (without phlegm or sputum). Often, no other "classic" asthma symptoms, such as wheezing or shortness of breath, are seen. The coughing with asthma can occur during the day or at night; it can interfere with sleep. Cough is made worse by exercise, called exercise-induced asthma. Coughing may increase when they are exposed to asthma triggers or allergy-causing substances like dust or strong fragrances, or when they are in cold air. This condition is common in young kids with childhood asthma & may progress to the "classic" asthma, with symptoms that include shortness of breath and wheezing.
Keep giving your child Montelukast, you may add albuterol inhalers when needed (ie at night and before physical activity) but only after having him seen by his pediatrician.
