I mean the elevated lymphocyte count could it be a sign of HIV?

No, lymphocyte count is not an adequate indicator to reliably determine whether or not there is HIV infection, because this number encompasses more than one subset of lymphocytes (kind of white blood cells) and we usually need measure specific subsets (CD4+ and CD8+ and the ratio as well) when suspecting a case of HIV. Moreover, lymphocyte count can be influenced by many factors. The proper way to test for HIV is my the immunoassay test (ELISA).
