I have Polycystic ovaries, that makes my period irregular. I take contraception medicine as my dr prescripted . Is there any other way to treat this case?? and does this medicine have side effects?

For hirsutism or other androgenic symptoms, an oral contraceptive as the treatment of choice
Metformin can also be used
Ovulation induction with clomiphene citrate
Obesity — Glucose intolerance — starting with lifestyle changes (diet and exercise), metformin, nariatriv surgery.

for the metformin side effect:

•Stomach pain, including nausea and vomiting
•Blurry vision, Seizures
•Confusion
•Weakness or fatigue
•Sudden weight loss or gain
Lactic Acidosis
