I do hve the mvp symptoms and that was the main reason for my echo and my EKG. I cant play sports or exert any effort without feeling pain. I take mg pills and a medicine to help with my heart beat.

It is advisable that you stick to your doctor's instructions and be compliant with your medication because he/she knows the extent of the disease and thus know best how to approach it; as long as you do that, you should not be obsessed with the thought of dying from MVP as most people with this condition lead normal or quasi-normal lives as previously indicated by my colleague.
Of course you will have to be monitored frequently to make sure that the defect in the mitral valve is stable.
