Asthma is a chronic disease that can only be controlled with medications. There are several classes of medications that can be used at the beginning to control the disease's symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, decreased activity, etc) and once we reach a state of control, the medications can be tapered. You should be seen and followed up by a specialist.
