Screening of prostate cancer must be done starting at the age of 50. If there is a family history of prostate cancer, especially in young family members, screening must be started earlier.
Screening must be done yearly by a digital rectal examination and a PSA blood test.
Several drugs were tried to prevent prostate cancer but none of them offers a significant decrease in the risk of prostate cancer till now.
