Yes, it is safe and effective and carry a very high rate of patient satisfaction. PRK or lasik surgery used to correct vision problems is safe with some mild side effects that goes after the healing process of the phenomena .it is now used by variety of people and is done more frequently, the doctor will check your eligibility to the surgery and if there is any problem before undergoing the procedure, he will make eye test vision to look for stability, or any other eye condition problem, after assessing your eligibility to the procedure he will advise you or not to the procedure which is safe in general .
Concerning cost there is not a fixed cost that depend on the ophthalmologist himself or if the procedure is done in doctors clinic or hospital
insurance companies usually don't cover such procedures.

Lasik surgery is a safe procedure except for not serious side effects. It costs around $1500 dollars and it is not covered by insurance.
