How much does a leg lengthening surgery cost and how do u ensure symmetry when u do it example will the thigh bone be too much taller than the chin bone if the lengthening was made in the thigh bone

Height lengthening, or growing taller, is a relatively new concept; however, it has been performed successfully for over 50 years. The procedure involves a surgical cut in the leg and/or thigh bones through a minimally invasive technique in order to allow lengthening or correction of any deformities in the legs.

Height lengthening and deformity correction techniques can be used to replace missing bone and to lengthen and/ or straighten deformed bone segments. The procedures may be performed on both children and adults who have leg length discrepancies or deformities due to birth defects, disease, or injury. Examples include patients with bow-legs, knock-knee deformities, one leg shorter than the other, and problems from previous injury or trauma.

The lengthening of bone and deformity correction works by gradually growing new bone and soft tissues through a method called distraction osteogenesis. After a surgical cut, the bone is pulled apart at a very slow rate of approximately 1 mm per day until the desired length is achieved. Each segment of bone can be lengthened up to 4 inches, depending on the body’s anatomy. The new bone is natural, strong and does not wear out. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires only one or two nights in the hospital. Patients are not in much pain since the distraction is so gradual. Those who undergo this procedure may walk independently with crutches during the treatment.

Excessive lengthening may cause problems with the patient's bodily proportions which may make them unattractive. It may also lead to future health problems such as premature arthritis, bone weakness or muscle atrophy. Both parts of the legs - the thighs containing the femur bone and the shins containing the tibia and fibula bones - can be lengthened. However, most techniques focus on the shins due to the lower risk of complications.

The full costs for an LL treatment of 5cm are likely to be between 12,500 and 125,000 US Dollars depending on a number of factors

Therefore depending to what is above mentioned ,concerning the proportions and symmetry all will be normal and good depending on the surgeon and by how much length will be added the success will depend.usually the cm added are less to make assemetry between bone proportions.
