Geographic tongue typically doesn't require any medical treatment and resolves on its own. Although it can sometimes cause tongue discomfort, it's otherwise a harmless condition. Try avoiding or limiting substances that can aggravate the condition such as hot and spicy food,alcohol, and acidic food.
if the pain is severe, topical anesthetics can be used.
