Is it necessary to remove the wisdom tooth? It's growing and the pain is killing me. I'm taking Surgam as medication for it.

Some reasons exist as to why you should extract it: limited jaw space, inclined axis, inflammation, etc.
To be sure if there is a real need for extraction, you should check with your dentist. But no, an imminent extraction is not always required.
