Can the HIV virus be transmitted if one gives oral sex while having mouth ulcers? Can you please elaborate on that?

HIV's transmission occurs by body fluids exchange including semen, vaginal secretions, blood, ... however the transmission depend on the viral load (# of virus/ ml). oral sex has lower risk of HIV transmission however having a wound, bleed or ulcer in the oral mucosa will increase the risk for HIV transmission whether the donor or the recipient. so one must be careful and always use protection!
