Are bacterial std asymptomatic? Or they always show symptoms and how long after contact symptoms appear
9 فبراير 2016

د. Zakia Dimassi طب الأطفال
They could be asymptomatic especially early on, and some people do not show symptoms at all. For chlamydia, the time between exposure and the start of symptoms—the incubation period—may range from days to months. If symptoms appear, it is usually 1 to 3 weeks after sexual contact with an infected person. For gonorrhea, the incubation period is usually 2 to 5 days. But sometimes symptoms may not develop for up to 30 days.
Gonorrhea may not cause symptoms until the infection has spread to other areas of the body.
A urine analysis and culture are required to identify the bacteria
