On one hand, infection of the uterine cervix (cervicitis) can delay pregnancy. You should get your "inflammation" checked out by a gynecologist, to get the right treatment. On the other hand, your partner should do a spermogram to check if the quality or quantity of sperm isn't a cause of the pregnancy delay, and to verify that he isn't infected too.

I agree with Dr Abboud, for healthy couples we do not consider that there is a problem of fertility until after trying to conceive for 1 year.
But the first test to be done would be the spermogram for your partner and having an exam by your gynecologist regarding the "inflammation" you mentioned.
